NYC Nightlife NYC continues to expand it's nightlife for tourists, however this doesn't mean that locals and travelers alike do not have a wealth of choice when it comes to entertainment at night. HUB of the Jazz world is what NYC is called since that is where a lot of greats made their names and if you are just starting out this is where to go. There are some of the best and exclusive dance clubs in the world. If you want to go somewhere to find a nice comfortable place to sit and drink and listen to music, there are a lot of lounges and New York has plenty of places. No matter your age you will find somewhere to party in NYC, every year there are hundreds of concerts held by famous musicians and countless comedy clubs full of well known comedians making your night an entertaining one.
My friends and I thought we would spend a long weekend in New York, so after arriving on Friday evening at the hotel we decided to get the weekend started with a bang, we had heard of a night club called 'Ace Of Clubs' so thought we would go there. However when we got there it wasn't really our scene. It was a little loud and the drinks were kind of pricey. So we went back to our hotel in search of something better.
When we got back to our hotel we ask the desk clerk if she could recommend a good nightclub and she told us to check ploose which is a directory for new NYC nightclubs and location. All we had to do was enter our location (New York City) and were gifted with a list of possible nightclubs we could go to. We decided to head to one that was close and has drink specials on so we went out and grabbed the first cab we could. We watched a couple of videos tours so we knew what to expect and when we got there it was exactly like they showed on ploose. When we got there we got us a table ordered a bottle of grey goose and had a great time. "The Pink Elephant was the name of the nightclub. After an eventful night we went back to the hotel to sleep.
The next day we decided to do some sightseeing, so we checked out 5th avenue, walked around Manhattan, going into a couple of restaurants for lunch, and by the time night rolled around we were tired. We checked ploose again since we were tired we felt like finding a low-key lounge and we found one nearby and decided that we would check it out The name of the lounge was the 'Sapphire Lounge'. It was nicely decorated in a traditional way, it kind of felt like you were having a get-together in your own front room. It had these really lovely red curtains that enhanced the atmosphere even more. There was this hip DJ there playing some house music and the prices were very reasonable. It was a really enjoyable night and I would recommend it to anybody.
The next day was Sunday and our last day in New York, there was a big game on so we thought we would start the night at a sports bar, we checked ploose to find one to go to. It seemed to recommend we go to 'Proof NYC' so we headed there and boy were we happy we did. The TV was 8 feet long, perfect for viewing the Football on. The bar itself was nicely decorated with comfortable hardwood floors and a gorgeous scarlet color on the walls. The beer were on sale that day so we lucked out. The food there was tasty as well, all in all it was a nice way to enjoy the match on our last day in NYC.
We still had time before we left town to stop at a jazz bar called the "Blue Note". This is one of the best jazz bars in the world that I have been to, I highly recommend it. The musicians were outstanding, the bar itself wasn't too crowded and was wonderfully decorated.
As you can see the entertainment on offer in NYC is impressive, you will certainly find something to enjoy. When we go back to NYC we are going to check out the Opera and Broadway and will let you know the best.
Have a great time in NYC and stay safe.
